Therapy for children brings a lifetime of change!
Therapy for children is amazing experience . It often looks much different than it does for many adults. Why is that? Because they are at different stages of development and play is their language. Kids work things out through play, so their therapy sessions often include art, sand tray, playing with toys or a board game. So do not be surprise when you ask you child how was it, if they reply we just played a game and talked about stuff. However during play they learn how to understand and express their feelings appropriately, and also work through the things that their minds are worried about.
Great video teaching kids how to calm through breathing.
Adolescents
I have been working with teens for over 20 years and I totally enjoy it. Helping them navigate this exciting and trying time as they figure out who they are is a privilege. Teens often learn how to understand and express their emotions and communicate with others. Frequent issues teens face include anxiety, depression, perfectionism, conflicts with parents, academic struggles, and adjusting to divorce. Sessions are often causal and discussion is often done while playing a game of Uno.
